Elonroad and AISIN sign cooperation agreement to decarbonize road transportation

The ERS pioneer and Sweden based Elonroad and Japan based multinational AISIN have identified common interest in exploring solutions to contribute to decarbonizing road transportation. As both companies put sustainability at the top of their core values they now signed a frame agreement for joint projects for applications, supply and commercialization of electric vehicle charging solutions provided by Elonroad.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change´s Fifth Assessment Report, the global transport sector is responsible for 23 percent of total CO2 emissions, 72 of which is attributable to road transportation. The challenge to create sustainable, energy-efficient and reliable transportation infrastructure is urgent. Fossil fuels must be replaced in a near future.

The solution is in our hands. Electrical Road Systems, ERS, that allow vehicles to charge whilst driving, are already well advanced in technology and can be implemented with minor adjustments in the existing road system. The sustainable future of mobility is electric, dynamic and intelligent.

Elonroad will continue to focus on developing and delivering charging solutions while AISIN will focus on developing and delivering the onboard equipment, such as pick-up and dynamic charging system, for vehicles using Elonroad´s solutions. The Framework Cooperation Agreement also includes adding ERS rails to the AISIN test track in Mons, Belgium.

-We look forward to a joint mission to release the potentials of Electric Road Systems to reduce CO2, emissions and dependence on fossil fuels and build a sustainable transport infrastructure. Combining the valuable knowledge of AISIN with Elonroad´s pioneering solutions makes us well positioned to greatly contribute to a climate-neutral transport sector.
Karin Ebbinghaus, CEO Elonroad

-AISIN has studied all possibilities in this direction and concluded that Electric Road System, ERS, is a high potential solution for future mobility. AISIN has benchmarked all existing ERS technologies and concluded that ELONROAD conductive rail is the best option to pursue. AISIN has recently decided to increase its commitment and resources to this technology.
